Firepaw

The ginger tom veered off the path leading out of camp, traveling deeper into the forest. He dashed forward, and finally saw what he was looking for. He dove into the cluster of mushrooms and leaves, rolling over and over again in the pile. Firepaw motioned frantically for Darkpaw to do the same. When his scent was covered, the apprentice hopped out and rushed back towards the trail. Sniffing the air, he caught Redpaw's scent. Keeping a little way ahead, he hopped onto the bark of a tree, and scrambled upwards. Claws unsheathed, Firepaw pulled himself up onto a low branch, where it was thick and sturdy. He was hidden by a cover of leaves. "Darkpaw, over here! When Redpaw comes, we're gonna jump down and surprise her," he whispered, crouching down.

His ears pricked as he heard Redpaw's impatient yowl. Carefully, the tom lowered himself slightly, and called, "We're over here! There's a bunch of prey further up," Firepaw called, then quickly retreated back onto the branch. He looked down, and watched for her arrival.

Darkpaw

~Darkpaw copied every move that Firepaw made. Disguising her scent, climbing the tree. When Firepaw told her his plan, she smiled and nodded in agreement. once they got into position, Darkpaw whispered to Firepaw, so quietly that a mouse 5 tail lengths away from them wouldn't hear what she said..~ I don't think Redpaw likes me, but I don't know why...

Redpaw

Redpaw jumped of the rock when she heard Firepaw's answer.She growled and stalked through the forest.She couldn't scent them but she walked on.She was getting hungry from all the impatience and walking she was doing.Redpaw scented the air but only smelled the forest.She frowned and sat beside a small patch of weeds and groomed herself.Redpaw licked her pelt with swift,long danty swipes.She waited for Firepaw and Darkpaw to come out.

A devious grin tugged at the corner of his mouth as the sound of the she-cat's pawsteps. He shot a glance at Darkpaw, eyes sparkling with mischief. Tensing, the fiery tom prepared to spring down. "On three," he murmured, his voice nearly inaudible. His tail swayed from side to side in the air, in time to his counting. "One....two..." Just then, Redpaw's head appeared in his line of sight. "Three!" Making as loud a rustling as he could in the leaves, Firepaw leaped down, landing solidly on the dirt ground, and took a little hop forward. "Boo!" he cried, only a few whiskers away from touching his nose against the other apprentices.

Redpaw

Redpaw's ears pricked in alarm at the sound of Firepaw's cry.She yowled out in surprise when Firepaw jumped down,she growled and slapped the mystery cat across the cheek with sheathed claws and laughed hysterically.She was scared out of her skin but she thought it was funny.Redpaw tackled Firepaw,pushing him down with her front paws.she growled and padded his head with her sheathed paws.She laughed even louder.

Firepaw

Shaking with bouts of laughter, he pushed Redpaw off of him, and staggered to his paws. "Y-You should have seen your face!" he chortled.

Redpaw

Redpaw hissed at Firepaw,playfully and scrabbled off him.She chuckled in embarrasment and padded him one more time on the head."Yea,well,we will just see what happens to your face!" she yowled and lunged at him again this time inertwinning her front legs with his and making both of them go head over paws.She laughed when they finally stopped.She bounced to her paws and sat shaking her head.

Darkpaw

~Darkpaw looked down at the two cats below her. It seemed as though Firepaw had momentarily forpotten her. She suddenly felt an overwhelming sensation of jealousy as the breeze gently rustled the forest around her. With her eyes narrowed, she looked down at them. Redpaw didn't even care where she was, but Darkpaw didn't care. And Firepaw seemed more interested in Redpaw at the moment. The breeze briefly picked up, and made the forest rustle more loudly. Darkpaw had to dig her claws into the swaying branch as it rocked in the breeze. As soon as the breeze had stopped, Darkpaw leaped down from the tree, landing so close to Redpaw and Firepaw that if she were any closer, she would be on top of them.~ Hi.

Redpaw

Redpaw looked at Darkpaw then at Firepaw.She cleared her throat and stepped a couple steps back.She felt embarrased and angry that Darkpaw had saw her do that.Redpaw flicked her tail back an forth,"Well,er,let's go hunt." she said then trotted off.Barg in like that when Firepaw and I are having a great time. she thought to herself.

Darkpaw

~Darkpaw looked slightly puzzled by Redpaw's reaction to her entrance. She looked at Firepaw with her eyebrows raised and her eyes wide as Redpaw strutted away. Redpaw was being colder to her than she had been before. Darkpaw didn't understand. What the heck was Redpaw's problem? Darkpaw was getting more and more confused and slightly frusterated with Redpaw all the time. What was with that she-cat? Darkpaw shook herself to clear her head.~

Firepaw

He looked from Redpaw to Darkpaw, then back again. Shaking loose leaves, grass, and twigs out of his fur, the apprentice climbed to his paws, purple eyes puzzled. Firepaw licked one ginger paw, feeling uncomfortable in the awkward silence. What happened? "Well, um...let's get hunting then," he decided out loud. He padded away, sniffing the air. As he walked, he couldn't help but think: She-cats; I just don't get them sometimes.

Redpaw

Redpaw snickered alittle and twirled around.She glared at Darkpaw,challengingly and playfully.She growled and shook her haunches in the air.Redpaw wanted to play but she also wanted to show Darkpaw that she had a reason to fight for Firepaw.She looked at Firepaw and chuckled a devious laugh,Redpaw then let out a yowl and rushed towards Darkpaw with a speed that was very lame.She tackled into Darkpaw,she jumped back and watched Darkpaw roll a couple fox-tail lengths.Redpaw pounced and landed beside Darkpaw laughing her skin off.Im fighting for Firepaw... Redpaw thought to herself,trying to show to herself that it was a right to fight for what you want.

What was that for? ~Darkpaw asked, shaking the dust and leaves out of her tortoiseshell coat as she stood up. She raised her eyebrows at Firepaw questioningly. What the heck was wrong with Redpaw? Darkpaw only thought of Firepaw as her best friend, and nothing more (yet). She rolled her mis-matched eyes at Redpaw, then turned and padded away.~ I'll be hunting over here if anyone wants me.

Redpaw growled an insult but no one could hear it."You can't even just play!" she whispered,if your a cat that doesn't play fight,what are you?Mouse-brained!That's what you are!"You go do that,Darkpaw." Redpaw said."I can't hunt,Firepaw." she confessed."No one taught me how,remember,I don't have a mentor!." she padded away with her tail drooping and her ears flat against her head.Redpaw sighed and climbed up a tree,she sat on a high branch and stared down below her.
