A black coated cat walked to the Starpool with his medicine cat at his side. He didn't get nervous often, but he was nervous now. All of his ancestors shinned upon his in the Silverpelt. The moon wasn't shinning brightly tonight, leaving Silverpelt to shine even more. They twinkled in his red eyes, gleaming the handsome tom. His silky black fur rustled with the feeling of power at his paws. His pink nose twitched around to scent the Starpool ahead. It reflected perfectally off of the stars, making them brighter than ever now. It was time for his to become the offical leader of his strong, pure, proud clan of Moonclan.
His pink tounge touched the cold water, sending constant shivers through his pelt. His paws rested neatly on the edge, making sure there wasn't a way he could fall. His tail kept him balance as he settled himself down. His ears pointed forward, staring at the pool. His eyes slanted shut, making his look like a big black ink pad in the middle of the land.
Cherrypine.... Cherrypine... A voice called in the distance. He didn't dare to open his eyes yet. Though, he would never admit it, he was slightly scared at the voice. The voice echoed again, Cherrypine...
[/b] The voice was so warm and welcoming this time, he slightly opened his oval shaped eye. In front of him appeaed a fimilar white ghost looking cat. His blue eyes filled with wisdom and amusment, Cherrypine knew this cat from the past. He did it. He connected to Starclan.
"Moonstar." Cherrypine looked up at his past friend and leader. His legs wobbled a little bit as he stood up. He regained his thoughts and courage to stand in front of Starclan like this. All the stars he found in the sky were starting to come down and form the shapes of cats. They all formed a group around Cherrypine, smiling with approval. The stars on their pelt shown more than Cherrypine could ever remember in his dreams.
It is time Cherrypine. The white cat told his former deputy. Moonstar backed up a little bit to join the mass group of cats around him. Cherrypine's shivers he felt at when he lapped up the Starpool returned, making his feeling powerful and worthy. His red eyes gazed upon the first cat that stepped forward. It was his mother, Brindleclaw.
With this life, I give you the sense of protection. Use it to protect your clans in time of difficulty and sorrow.[/b] The white she-cat touched her paw to his shoulder. Her red eyes gleaming with pride and 'I'm proud of you' look. The energy from her paw exploded into Cherrypine. It was full of memories of queens protecting their kits from anything and everyone. The urge to help his clan filled inside of him, but he knew that would have to wait. He noticed his gentle mother was gracefulling making her way to an empty area, standing in front of the crowd of dead cats.
Then, Cherrypine reconized a smaller cat, looking about 9 moons old of age. The gingery pelt shimmered in sprinkled stars on her pelt. It was none other than the older apprentice that Cherrypine use to have until she died falling in a river, Sandpaw. She didn't seem so pained like she did before she died. She was filled with joy and happiness.
With this life, I give you the sense of understanding. Use it to understand why your clan does and wants what their looking for. The she-cat's paw reached for Cherrypine's shoulder, touching it. The energy was filled with the excitment of an apprentice at training, but was followed by the feel of drowning in water. He looked at Sandpaw with sad eyes. It was the feeling when she died. Sandpaw bowed her head in shame, but didn't respond. He walked over and sat right next to Brindleclaw.
A broad tom with wide shoulders and a look that could kill started walking toward him. His green eyes showed power and strength. The stars didn't shine as brightly on this cat's black pelt. Instead, they were rather dull like stars on a cloudy day. It struck Cherrypine that this was his father. Even all the hate and power in his eyes, there was a hint of pride like his mother. His father was a rouge, but believed and joined Moonclan just the same.
Son, with this life, I give you pride. Use it to guide your clan through times where others might try to overcome. His large paw crashed onto Cherrypine, and Cherrypine had to fight not to wince at the pain. It was the energy of several battles and powerlust. The feeling crept on Cherrypine, and he hated the feeling. He hated it, because the power felt good. He looked at his father, expecting him to do the same as the others, but the father hesitated.
"Son, there is another one of your siblings. More than Dawncloud and Icetail. There is one more. Desertthorn is his name. He does not know of this knowledge, so don't mention it to him. Let him figure it out on his own. Without another word, the tom left to sit next to Sandpaw, starting to form a line in front of Cherrypine.
He was too busy thinking about his unknown brother to notice another cat emerging out of the crowd, just as the others had done. This cat was old with a gray muzzle surrounding him. His gray fur was prickling like a kit's would. His old blue eyes had a hint of youth in the mist of them. Cherrypine smiled and pushed his brother at the back of his mind as he reconized the old medicine cat, Wolfwhisker.
With this life, I give you healing. Use it to confort your clan in a time of pain.[/b] His voice was old and cracked as he spoke. He reached and gentle touched Cherrypine's shoulder. With this energy, it was a sure of the feeling of cries and morning.
It isn't healing with herbs! Its healing with words! Cherrypine realized. The old cat hobbled over next to the large tom, looking very insinificant next to him.
A pale ginger she-cat stepped out of the crowd. The stars on her pelt shown very brightly. Enough to light up an entire camp. She swiftly made her way to Cherrypine, smiling with love and compassion. Cherrypine's body filled with warmth as he reconized Streamfrost. She was his almost to be mate, but the camp was attacked as soon as she became warrior. He remembered that battle well. There were three cats that died, one his love, another one his best friend, Leafeyes, and finally, the deputy, Redfoot. One of the things he did in the battle was figure out who killed Leafeyes, Streamfrost, and Redfoot. He was made deputy because of his victory of knowledge. Too bad his acomplishment could never bring them back. Fighting a tear, he focused on Streamfrost.
With this life, I give you love. Use it for your clan around you. She said. Her touch of energy was filled with warmth and happiness. Then there was a moment of pain of lose. Streamfrost lightly touched Cherrypine's nose before walking off to sit next to Wolfwhisker.
Speaking of his best friend, the shape of a strong muscular brown tabby stepped out of the crowd. Friendship was in his green happy, excited eyes. His bounded up to Cherrypine with a wide smile on his face.
With this life, I give you friendship. Use it to make friends with your clan, and others around you, for a friend is always better than a foe.[/b] Filled with excitment, he pushed Cherrypine's shoulder. The energy brought back memories of when they were apprentices, wondering around carelessly in the world. It ended with the last bit of proud fighting. This was the first life that didn't end with a death feeling, but a 'I only regretting having one life to give to my clan' kind of feeling. Leafeyes bounded to Streamfrost, flicking his tail on Cherrypine's nose playfull as he spun around.
The past deputy ran out of the mass of cats, his orange fur gleeming with several stars in his pelt. None of them were nearly as bright as someone like Streamfrosts, but there was many of them. He looked straight into Cherrypine's red eyes with his copper eyes. Cherrypine didn't like the past deputy all that much, so it was a surprise he was standing in front of him, giving him a life. Redfoot always had a liking for Streamfrost.
With this life, I give you justice. Use it to judge guilts around you.[/b] His voice wasn't unfriendly like it was when he was alive. It was filled with gratitude and forgiving. The energy was filled with jelousy, but understanding at the end of the death. It made Cherrypine a little sad that he didn't take the time to make friends with the orange cat.
Yet another cat appeared out of the front of the crowd. Her body was long, lean, and slimming. Her tortishell fur made her look very beautiful. It took Cherrypine a little bit to reconize his mother's sister. She died like his mother did, out of age. They were both really old when they Brindleclaw had Cherrypine. She was always the fun aunt he could look up to. She was also his past mentor.
With this life, I give you tireless energy. Use it for your clan when all is busy.[/b] She had a hint of mentor's wisedom in her unblinking green eyes. Her energy was filled with running through the forest, never getting tired and never running into anything. Just the thrill of going faster and faster until you reached the end of the trial. The wasn't a death feeling at all at the end of this one. She skipped to sit by her Redfoot, wrapping tails around him.
Finally, the cat that greeted him in the first place came up to Cherrypine. His former leader stepped in front of Cherrypine with greatness in him. His white pelt sparkled with the stars of the others.
"Dear Cherrypine, my warrior and my deputy, I'm glad you finally made it here before our ancestors to guide this clan in action. He spoke again, his voice being louder for all cats around him to hear,
With this life, I give you nobility and certainty and faith. Use it well as you lead your clan in the ways of Starclan and the Warrior Code[/b] The words echoed in Cherrypine's mind. He was never going to forget the feeling of this moment. The engery was filled with his clan at his side and his friends in his heart. The power of being a leader of such a clan was trumendous. He waited for Moonstar to go back to the line of cats, but he didn't right away.
I hail you by your new name, Cherrystar. You old life is no more. You have received the nine lives of a leader, and Starclan grants you the guardianship of Thunderclan. Defend it well' care for young and old' honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code' llive each life with pride and dignity! [/i] He neded the speach with power and greatness of a new leader of a new clan.
Everywhere around Cherrystar, there was chants in th eair that tickled the air with enthusiam and excitment as the new leader stood up in front of starclan.
Cherrystar! Cherrystar! Cherrystar![/b] He reconized who was yelling the loudest, and looked at them. Streamfrost and Leafeyes sitting side by side, gleming with respect. Cherrystar silently wished they never died. He wished he could take them back with him to keep hold of forever and always.
The chants started to fade into the distance like a two-leg monstor running by. The earth started to scent the same around him. He closed his eyes again, waiting for anything to happen. It took him a while to open his eyes again. His eyes shot open and he was staring at himself through the glass of the water. His red eyes filled with power and thrillment. He forgot about his brother, and focued on what they all told him. It was so good to see Leafeyes, Streamfrost, and Moonstar again. But now, he needed to head back to his clan as the new leader of Moonclan. [/size][/blockquote]
