First series of books or newer books?

I'm not complaining, but don't you think the first series was better than the newer ones?
I mean, I know it could get boring but Firestar's only briefly mentioned in the newer books, and, he was my favorite cat, so of course i have a strong opinion on that, but its not just the change of cats, it's the style of writing too.
Have any of you noticed changes?
What books do you prefer?

I have only read through the New Prophecy series, but I have to agree with you. When authors do this I always love the first series, I guess just because it was the first, but only sort of like the ones following. Of course, I still enjoy reading the books, but I would like it better if she had stopped after the first six books.

Then again, Crowfeather is my favorite character and if she had done that, he would not even be in existence XD I can never be satisfied.

Does anyone else notice how Erin Hunter often mixes up genders and whether the cat is a warrior or apprentice? I just remember one time after Swiftflight was made a warrior and was written down as Squirrelpaw (and not as a cat speaking).

Yeah! i noticed that.. about the SquirrelFlight thing.
But you do know that 'erin hunter' is actually a cover name. The book is written by two different people... That might be a reason...

Yeah, I was surprised when I first found that out XD But isn't it three people, not two? I suppose it could be that, but either way, their editor sorta sucks. I complain to my sister all the time about the grammatical errors I find...and I'm not even that good at grammar! (I don't think XD)

But oh well, horrible grammar or not, it's still a good series

And have you noticed.. that in one particular book (i forgot which one) They use the word 'Pang' alot? XD
