my tail dragged lazily along the nursery floor, my paws dragging and shuffling quietly along. my gaze was directed down as i sighed softly. a chunk of my ear was missing and i smiled softly, not caring if it was. i laid down near the edge of the nursery walls. my ears were pricked, watching the others kits bounce around and play happily. i sighed softly and burried my face into my paws, tears pricking the backs of my eyes. my family was gone forever and there was nothing i could do. they could still be out in the forest, wandering around; lost and alone. or they could be... dead by now. i shivered at the though at let a small sob escape my throat. i prayed it wasn't true. that they were safe out there, somewhere... anywhere would have been fine with me.
my tail lashed along the nursery floor still as i sighed softly and turned my head to the side. my paws kneeding the ground and my eyes closed tightly as yet another tear rolled down my small gray face. my black paws glistened with tears as i shivered and sighed miserably. there had to be someone there that would help me find my family. but then again, all i was, was a small kit. a small kit that no one knew. i sighed miserably and curled myself into a ball, hoping that the pain would just stop.
