Finchpaw
The tom remained unphased, despite the two blows from the deputy. Finchpaw raised himself to his full-height, which wasn't much. He was a tiny cat, though his rebel attitude made up for it. Graywhisker, his mentor and best friend, had taught him well, and had always told him to never back down. If that's what she called a tantrum, then she must not know what it means! Besides, she shouldn't lecture us about that stuff. She's the deputy, maybe, but every cat can see how she acts around Pantherstrike. It won't be long before she breaks the warrior codes and has kits.
Finchpaw glared at the she-cat. "Who says I'll do it?" he asked.

Fieryheart: Deputy of EarthClan
The she-cat stayed perfectly calm. She laughed at how the Apprentice tried to seem bigger. All Fieryheart did was tower over him. Fieryheart unsheathed her claws and took a step towards Finchpaw. "You should do it because it is your punishment. If you keep acting like this I will talk to Graywhisker and Brackenstar about this." she glared at the Apprentice with deep eyes. She shoved herself into his face. "You should really do what your told and not act like a kit!" she spat the word 'kit' to him.

Finchpaw
Suddenly the tom couldn't help but laugh at her 'kit' comment. Well, she's one to talk! She even hit me just because I asked her a question. Quickly controlling himself, he looked at her, unblinking. "What will that do? Telling them can't make me do it." And Graywhisker would take my side anyways.

The she cat ignored the apprentices, they were obviously, like mysticpaw, too young to know the warrior code yet. 'Hello, Fireyheart,' she dipped her head to the EarthClan deputy, 'I'm sorry about all of this, If it is OK, may we please speak with miricleweaver? If it is too much trouble we can come back another time.' The blue eyes of the grey cat showed none of her acute embarrassment, nor did she let it show any other way, even if it did, the EarthClan warriors would probably have some embarrassment because of the way their apprentices spoke to a medicine cat and her apprentice. sorry for the late reply.

-----MIRACLEWEAVER OF EARTHCLAN-----
He was wandering mindlessly through the forest lost within his own thoughts. It would not have been entirely surprising to anyone if he ended up walking straight into something, he was paying so little attention. But thankfully the tom was saved from such an event, for he was pulled back to reality by the sound of troubled voices. Curious both as to that and to why FrostClan scent hovered over the area, Miracleweaver edited his course so he strayed in that direction. He hoped it was nothing too serious.
The first words he heard came from Cinnamonpelt, a fellow medicine cat. She was asking if they would be allowed to see him; they meaning her and her apprentice. Why they would want to see him rather than one of the other medicine cats, however, was beyond him, for he surely was not the most experienced. Nonetheless, he would not turn them down. He needed something to get his mind off the prophecy received at the last visit to the moonstone.
"Oh it's no trouble at all" he assured them, stepping out to make his presence known. "What is it you need to see me about? Or would you rather go somewhere more secretive for that? he cast a quick look to the other cats in the clearing, indicating that they should leave. Something about the look on the apprentices face made him think it could be more series than he originally assumed.

CinnamonPelt
The small she-cat dipped her head upon miricleweavers arrival, to show her greeting to him. 'It's actually Mysticpaw who wishes to speak to you, I'm not sure that she would appreciate talking here. If it is possible, could we go somewhere out of earshot from the other cats?' She wasn't going to say that she had no idea what ti was about, and she wasn't going to make mysticpaw look even more silly than she already did by asking her what she wanted to do. Looking at her apprentice she pointed her nose in miricleweavers direction, 'This is the cat you wish to speak to?' She wasn't being patronizing, just making sure that it wasn't Bluemoon or Birdsong that she was thinking of. Her blue eyes were kind, but they still showed a little disappointment that her young apprentice didnt tell her what had happened.

Fieryheart: Deputy of EarthClan
Fieryheart dipped her head as well to the EarthClan Medicine Cat. "Yes, this cat wishes to speak with you Miracleweaver. If you have time, please do talk to her..it seems urgent." Fieryheart smiled at Mysticpaw and laughed. Fieryheart looked at how Cinnamonpelt was looking at Mysticpaw. She sighed. Her ears went down quickly when she heard Cinnamonpelt's words, If it is possible, could we go somewhere out of earshot from the other cats? she winced and thought about how well her hearing was so she would decide to move far far away from them when this was finished. Fieryheart turned away from the cats but glared at Finchpaw. "You are coming with me, Apprentice." she grabbed the tom by his neck and didn't care if he was heavier than she expected. She waited for a reaction from the Apprentice.

Finchpaw
He let out a snarl when as she yanked him off the ground by the scruff. His soot colored paws lashed through the air, furious. "The 'apprentice' has a name you know!" he growled.
Graywhisker
A long furred tom bounded lightly through the trees, his olive green eyes alert. A familiar yowl reached his ears, instantly drawing his attention. There was EarthClan scent in the air, mixed with FrostClan scent. There was also a faint tang of herbs, like that of a medicine cat, or multiple. Graywhisker burst out from a bush, fur fluffed and tail extended behind him. Just then, he spotted the clan's deputy, Fieryheart, gripping Finchpaw by the scruff of his neck. What's she doing with my apprentice? he wondered, more angry than curious.
The warrior shared more common ground with his apprentice than most mentors did with their charges. He was the one who'd found him on EarthClan territory when Finchpaw was still a tiny kit, and he himself was a senior apprentice. They'd spent plenty of time together, and he viewed the younger tom as a younger brother. Graywhisker knew that Finchpaw saw him as more than just a mentor, too, but lately, Graywhisker was becoming more distant. His apprentice's potential was great, and he learned quickly. It was beginning to make the warrior more and more reluctant to teach everything he knew. He had always been taught to be the best, and he in turn pounded the same mantra into Finchpaw. In truth, Graywhisker had no desire for a younger cat to become better than him--after so much harsh training, practice, and effort. No. None at all.
"What's going on here?" he demanded, padding towards the gathered cats, noting his apprentices thrashing.

Fieryheart: Deputy of EarthClan
Fieryheart put Finchpaw down on the ground when he started thrashing. She growled angerly and flicked her tail impatiently. When she heard a cat in the distance she pricked her ears. Fieryheart yet again flattened her ears and let out a growl when she noticed it was Greywhisker, Finchpaw's mentor. "Greywhisker, one thing you should do as a mentor is teach your apprentice how to behave correctly and listen to cats older then he is. And you should actually show up to train your apprentice." she turned to Finchpaw and lashed her tail. I know that Greywhisker won't do a thing. Finchpaw will soon get Greywhisker to believe something I didn't do and that mouse-brained apprentice won't take his punishment if I tell Brackenstar what has happened. Fieryheart sighed.
"Greywhisker, either ask Finchpaw to take his punishment now or I will have to report him to Brackenstar. I don't think you want young Finchpaw to be in trouble, do you?" she whispered calmly to him. Fieryheart couldn't do anything. She wasn't respected by any of the cats in her Clan and she felt mad and sad about it. She growled to herself. She was going to get respect from the Clan. "Please, Greywhisker. I give you permission to deal with this problem right now." Fieryheart backed up a few mouse-lengths back and layed down with her paws tucked under her. She was going to stay there and watch. No matter what.

Graywhisker
The gray tom gazed at Fieryheart, not yet showing any signs of judgement. He could tell Fieryheart thought she could do whatever she wanted with the cats of her clan, since she was the deputy. Then again, she shouldn't expect so much from every cat when it was so obvious that she shared a mutual relationship with Pantherstrike. He blinked slowly, for a moment silent. "I held a battle session with him earlier today, just before he came here, I believe," Graywhisker mewed, his fur beginning to flatten, and his voice calm.
"I don't think you should be telling others how to mentor their apprentices either, especially if they're not yours, and because you don't have one," he continued evenly. The warrior sat down, resting his tail over his paws. "Mentors do not need the permission of the deputy or leader to assign chores to their apprentices. And you haven't yet told me what you asked him to do."

Fieryheart: Deputy of EarthClan
The deputy looked at the warrior with disbelief that he would talk like that. She raised her haunches and got up, taking a small hesitant step forward. "Well, if Brackenstar would give me an apprentice we wouldn't be having any problem!" she yowled. She couldn't believe that any cat would say that to a deputy or any cat at that. She frowned at him. Fieryheart could sense that her eyes were going to a gloomy color and she shook her head. "Well for starters," she mewed calmly. "Finchpaw was talking back to Cinnamonpelt and I so I feel that he should do twice the hunting that he already does. He was not even listening to what I was saying," she growled. "And I was nnot about to take that from an apprentice." Fieryheart spat the last word at Finchpaw. Her musceles tensed in fury and she felt her haunches bristle. She breathed a deep breath and relaxed alittle. Fieryheart waited for what Graywhisker would say to defend his loved apprentice.

Graywhisker
He narrowed his yellow-green eyes at the smaller cat, still expressionless. "Having to hunt more can only help you improve," he meowed, directing the statement towards Finchpaw. "Practice, practice. You can go begin now." Secretly, the gray cat had his own reasons for agreeing so easily. If the apprentice had to spend more time hunting, there would be less time for training. The two of them were having less and less training lessons, for Graywhisker was not too please at being outdone by such a younger tom.
The warrior looked at Fieryheart again, getting to his paws, somewhat surprised to see how soon the deputy lost her temper. "Maybe the younger cats of the clans deserve some more respect. too. They are the future of the clan."
Finchpaw
His eyes widened in shock as he listened in disbelief. Digging his unsheathed claws into the ground, Finchpaw glowered at the two older cats. I'll hunt, but only when I feel like doing extra. With that, he stalked away into the forest, immediately pushing his anger away. The sooner he got it over with the better.

Fieryheart: Deputy of EarthClan
Fieryheart sighed in relief. "I agree but," she mewed. "Since he had back talked more than once I also think that he should clean out the Elders den. Not anything major, just new bedding and what not." she suggested. Fieryheart cleared her throat in embarrassmeant and jumped back startled at the tom when she noticed why he had gotten to his paws."I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be like that." she confessed calmly. Fieryheart sighed again in relief that everything was over.
But before they left to go, she had something to say to Graywhisker. "Excuse me but please don't think that just because Pantherstrike and I had shared something, that Finchpaw or anyone should treat me like that." she flattened her ears in sadness and layed where she was to think.

Graywhisker
That would cut out more training time, but if I let it go too far, it may get suspicious. The warrior dipped his head amiably, but not with any particular warmth. "I don't think that's necessary. Two or three days of extra hunting is enough. I would still like to have some time to have some training sessions with him." Graystripe flicked his ears dismissively, to show his decision was final. "I think you did more than share a piece of fresh-kill," Graywhisker added in a neutral voice. A blind rabbit could see that.
