Something's Missing {3/26/08}

The silver shape slid into the clearing. It had been a whole moon since Angelpaw and Eagleheart had found her sleeping, just over the MoonClan border with her exiled warrior. She looked around. The were the first ones there. Strange...moonClan's always the first ones here... she thought. But, she shrugged it off and leaped onto the rock, awaiting the arrival of the other clans.

Illusionpaw's black pelt made her undetectable in the dark night. She timidly paced over to the spot where FrostClan usually sat. Her icy blue eyes looked over to her leader, Oceanstar. The silver cat was already on the rock, waiting for the other clans. Illusionpaw glanced over her shoulder, MoonClan and SunClan wasn't behind her, nor the apprentince could smell them. Usually apprentinces wouldn't worry about who was here or not, but they would get excited that they got to go to their very first gathering. Illusionpaw wasn't like most cats. She almost always kept to herself, hiding in the shadows or the corner-shying away from other cats. The pure black apprentince prepared herself for the hude group of cats that was going to be here.

Moonpaw of Frostclan

~Moonpaw padded into Star Trees with the rest of her clan. She looked suspiciously around. This was her first gathering, and she wouldn't mind getting into a scrape with another clan cat, but that would, of course, anger Starclan. The attractive gray she-cat looked around, and opened her mouth, scenting for other cats. She could smell the stale scent of the other clans from past gatherings, but no new scent. She chose a spot near Illusionpaw. Moonpaw didn't want to talk with the other clan cats. She would rather sit and study them, to discover their weaknesses. Then, she would have the upperhand when it came to a clan war.~

Scourgepaw

The tiny black cat slunk in after the rest of his clanmates, immediately noticing the lack of other fresh clan scents.As he broke through the trees and into the wide clearing, he realized that it was empty except for them. His pale blue eyes glimmered, curious. That's wierd... Scourgepaw lingered in the far back of the clan, keeping to the long shadows of bushes and other plants, where he usually stayed.Keeping his ears pricked, he listened for any signs of approaching clans. In all the times he'd come to the Gathering, MoonClan and SunClan were already there. Did their deputies die, too? he wondered, remembering how at the last Gathering, EarthClan said their deputy had been killed, and that was why they hadn't shown up at the Gathering before the last. Laying his head on his paws, he waited for the Gathering to go on.

Citruspelt of FrostClan

Citruspelt followed behind Moonpaw, to Star Trees. Weird. MoonClan nor SunClan is here. They're usually here first... he was thinking. The dappled tom sat beside Moonpaw. MoonClan is normally here first. I wonder if something's wrong. he mewed to the attractive apprentice. He wrapped his tail around his paws, and waited for the rest of the clans to show up.

Moonpaw of Frostclan

~Moonpaw watched as her clanmates filtered in through the trees, and took their places around Star Trees. Citruspelt came over and sat beside her. "MoonClan is normally here first. I wonder if something's wrong." he said to her. Moonpaw nodded.~ Oh, are they?

Yes. Anyways...what do you think of the gathering so far? the dappled tom meowed.

Uhm.... well I haven't been here long enough to judge it. All I think so far, is that the other clans should hurry up their furry butts before I fall asleep! ~Moonpaw replied, testing a hint of humor in her voice at the last sentance. Though he was a clanmate of hers, she didn't trust him. But then again, she didn't trust her sister, or even her mother either, and they shared the same blood.~

Citruspelt let out a mrrow of laughter when Moonpaw stated the last part of her sentence. Very well said! he joked.

...Illusionpaw of FrostClan...

The pure black apprentince felt the presence of more of her clan-mates. Moonpaw had sat next to her, and Citruspelt was next to Moonpaw. Her fur tingled with akwardness. She thought no cat would see her on the count of her pitch black fur blending in with the shroud of darkness around her. Illusionpaw wasn't used to being with so many cats, even after-what? 2 or 3 moons of being an apprentince? The only cat so far that she was used to be around was her mentor Mintflower. But even when she is around, Illusionpaw is still shy. The apprentince was always shy like that even at birth. Illusionpaw shook it off, trying to concentrate on not overhearing the converstation.

silvermyst padded over to Moonpaw and the others. "What about Sunclan? And Earthclan? They arent here. Where are they?"

Let me just ask them. How should I know why their not here yet. I'm from Frostclan. ~Moonpaw snapped, sarcastically at Silvermyst, then, with her eyes wide, she realized what she had just done. She quickly bowed her head apologetically, and apologized.~ Sorry Silvermyst.

Well, you should be! Silvermyst gaped at the attitude that an apprentice gave a senior warrior who was on the brink of Elderlyness. Silvermyst snorted at Moonpaw. "Whose her mentor. She needs an attitude adjustment!" she fretted with her own attitude.
She walked away and sat by herself waiting for EarthClan and the others to come.

Oceanstar sighed as they all talked. There was still no sign of the others, and she was starting to wonder if they'd show up at all.

Silvermyst looked up at Oceanstar.

Brackenstar of EarthClan

Brackenstar stalked carefully through the bracken. His ears errect, his nose twitched scneting for any gandgers, and his eyes scanned the Gathered cats. Seems good, but where MoonClan and SunClan? he thought.
Brackenclaw flicked his tail with effort. Signaling his clan to follow.
Strolling out of the undergrowth, he padded , ears back , tail , and body low to the ground, he made his way ignoring all the others, to the High Rock.
"Oceanstar, where are the other clans?" he asked nervously. "It would be nice to start and get this over with." he murmured.
How was he going to explain that Dragonstar had retired and is now Dragonclaw. He still had to tell them thats there was a new apprentice, Foxpaw, and two new warriors, Darkstorm and Firelight. Thats all. Then he could get home and straighten things out.
