Citruspelt

Citruspelt padded to one of the driest spots in the marshy territory, where warriors came to train their apprentices for battle practice. The dappled brown tom sat down and licked his fur. His apprentice was his son - Icepaw. Icepaw hadn't known that Citruspelt was his father, but he recently was told that he was, and Icepaw was with okay with it. It's making up all the lost time... he thought. He stopped cleaning his pelt of various browns and waited for the white tom to come. Icepaw defiantly would not be hard to miss.

Icepaw stalked up slowly behind Citruspelt. He had taken the long way, just so he could sneak up of his father. He dropped into a crouch like he had seen the other apprentices do. Finally, he sprang out in attempt to land on his father's back.

Citruspelt had heard something crack behind him. So as an instinct, he hissed and moved out of the way. Right after the warrior did that, a white blurr came springing out of the bushes. You have to work up on that crouch, Icepaw! Citruspelt said to his son who was also his apprentice. So, are you ready to train?

Icepaw landed in the grass. He had probably messed up that time, but he knew that he would get better oer time, and his hopes were to become the best apprentice in FrostClan. Icekit nodded and walked up to his mentor. 'Can we practice my fighting moves first? I want to be prepared before anything else." Icekit meowed questioningly.

That's why we're here, silly! Citruspelt meowed. I mean, in the future, we have to perfect it! He eyed his son. He'll make a great warrior... he thought proudly.

Icekit let out a mrrrow of happiness. He stared at his mentor for a few minutes, and then got up on all fours and crouched down, ready to train.

Citruspelt smiled proudly at his son. Well, I suspect you have watched the apprentices train in front of you. So let's see if you can try to copy some without me teaching you. Try them on me. Ready? Begin, he said in one breath.

Icepaw blinked blankly. He dropped into a crouch and hissed, preparing for one of his favorite moves that the Apprentices showed him. He launched onto his back and hung on, ready to jump off if he rolled over. It was then that the apprentices jumped back on and scratched at the stomach, but for training he would have to keep his claws sheathed.

Citruspelt was shocked with amazement as the new apprentice landed on his back almost perfectly. He thought about what to do and then decided he would roll-over, not thinking Icepaw would know to jump off. Swiftly, he rolled over, hoping he wouldn't smash his son. It came to his surprise that...

Icepaw measured his length from his mentor quickly, and pounced. He landed straight on the belly of his mentor, and pawed at his belly, luckily with his claws sheathed.He jumped off almost immediately after, knowing that by using that technique he was revealing his soft underbelly.

Citruspelt gasped when the apprentice that had absoultly no training jumped off. Icepaw had jumped back onto his father because his soft belly was exposed. The white cat pawed it and leapt back, not allowing Citruspelt to kick him off. The dappled tom quickly turned toward the white cat, flopping onto his belly and lashing out his paw at his apprentice's leg. He snagged his paw back and made Icepaw fall. Didn't expect that, did you? he asked, laughing. Now they were both on their bellys, looking at eachother and having a good time.

Icepaw blinked, befuddled. "Do you know some moved ive never seen before?" he meowed. He turned and saw a mouse facing the other way. He stalked up on it, this time trying to do it less noisily. Finally he pounced on the mouse on held its tail in its mouth, not even killing it. "I wan to pway a pwank on oceenswar!" he meowed, trying to keep the live mouse from escaping.

Citruspelt stood up, shaking the twigs and dust from his pelt. Icepaw had stood up, too, but turned around to see a mouse. The white cat nearly had it perfect, but he was wobbling and putting too much weight on his paws. In a flash, the white bundle of fur pounced on it, amazingly getting it. That was great! Citruspelt complimented his son. Then he heard a mutter of words coming out from the apprentice's mouth, hard to understand because of the fresh-kill. A prank on the leader?! Are you mad?! Hah, but tell me anyways... he said in a happy tone.

Icekit put down the mouse, but held it down with his paw as it tried to run away. "We can put a bunch of live mice in her den and stuff them under her bed. When she goes to lay down she'll think her bed is moving." Icekit mewed mischeviously.

Citruspelt gaped at his son. Are you mad, Icepaw?! We'd get in serious trouble. Especially me, since I'm a warrior! he meowed at the white apprentice. Lashing he tail angerily, he pounced on the tom, pinning him down. Didn't exect that, did you? he hissed into his son's ear, jokefully. Citruspelt would never do that to his kin... Ever.
