Sneaking In to see Finchpaw

Finchpaw

Tiny as he was, the yellow furred cat pounced towards his clanmate. It had been out of pure instinct and reflex as he managed to push Pearlheart off of the medicine cat apprentice. Blue-violet eyes narrowed, his hackles rose in defense of the visiting she-cat. "She needed to get some medicine cat stuff from Miracleweaver," Finchpaw snapped, remembering the last time Mysticpaw had come--medicine cats seemed to have a lot of available excuses for going on another clan's territory. "Parsley and cobwebs or something. Apparently she hasn't learned the best places for finding cobwebs yet on FrostClan territory." He gave a disdainful sniff, making his answer even more realistic. After all, usually they started off with basic herbs and their scents. Besides, parsley wasn't used often either--not that he knew of. It wasn't that wellknown.

Finchpaw continued, "Anyways, medicine cats are allowed to go on another clan's territory without being attacked."

Pearlheart kept her ears back and eyes narrowed. She thought for a moment, then opened her maw to speak. "If that were so," she began. "Why would she have to be sneaking in and out of our camp? And why would you two be hiding? And why was she in the fresh-kill pile? Also, medicine cats are allowed to pass through other clans' territory only when on official medicine cat buisiness. And I can see that she was not." Pearlheart studied them both carefully. "No need to answer that, for I know that you will have no reasonable excuse." The she-cat paused. "I will not tell other cats of this as long as it does not happen again. You two can stick to seeing each other at gatherings only." Pearlheart had always tried to be kind and fair. She stepped out of the medicine cat apprentice's way. Then she said sharply, "I would like to remind you that it is not only against the warrior code have too-close relationships in seperate clans, but it is also against the warrior code for a medicine cat to have a mate at all. You need to chose, Mysticpaw." She nodded, signaling the younger she-cat to go. StarClan, guide my paws in the right direction, she prayed silently.

"Well, of course she would sneak in and out of our camp. The last time she came onto our territory, a patrol wouldn't let her pass," he grumbled, conveniently forgetting to mention that he was one of them. Fieryheart had punished him for it, too. "As for why we were hiding, her mentor doesn't know she came here for cobwebs, of all things. Finchpaw hid a smirk. "I'd find it rather funny if I didn't know where to get those."

Mysticpaw chuckled silently. "Well, Ill be on my way now. See ya, Finchpaw!" she said, dashing off into the forest as she had tried to do before.
