Dusk was falling over the darkening woods of the MoonClan territory, though past the border a few fox lengths away, a small light shape danced slowly in the shadows. Closer up you could tell that the shape was that of a feline, a young feline to be precise, a kit. She was unknowingly traveling into land that was claimed, but she was too young to know what lay beneath the border. Even if she was born into the Clans she probably wouldn't have a clue where the borders were. So she plodded on, nearer and nearer she came, until stopping to sniff at the bark f a nearby tree. there was something strange about it, it had a peculiar, but somewhat familiar scent to it. But she couldn't think right now, she was so exhausted. all she wanted to do was find herself again in the embrace of someone who truly loved her, her father. But who was her father? where was he? She hadn't a clue, she was just going wherever her pawsteps took her. The young cat's pace slowed drastically and she found herself feeling weak, unaware of the dangers of the night, the kit curled herself up in the root of a tree and gazed into the night with her blue eyes searching every shadow for life. Pain welled in her heart; she was so lost, so alone, so confused, and so hungry. What should she do? The kit sought it best if she called out for her father, or somebody. Maybe some one would come and find her. Soon enough that part of the woods was filled with the cries of a little lost kitten, lost, and afraid. She wondered if her calling would be in vain, or if anything would even notice her. Though the forest was coated in the scents of other cats, she couldn't surpass the feeling that was dragging her under, the feeling of being alone.

Palepelt ~The rough loner tomcat had been prowling though Moonclan's territory, trying to get used to it so that he would be able to make an attack plan with ease, when he had enough followers that he could take over the clans. Of course, he had come across a problem. He had scented she-cat, and was trying to locate the feline to which it belonged. There was something about the cent that made him think of his mother, and he had almost missed the scent of a mouse when he realized why. The scent clearly belonged to a kit. After marking his scent on a nearby tree, he caught a mouse, and began to carry it. It masked the scent of the other cat, but when he heard her cries, it wasn't long before he spotted her. He slowly pushed his way out of the bushes, revealing himself to the kitten. Perhaps he could convince this kitten that he was something special. Perhaps he could convince the kit to follow him, and eventually help him take over the clans. He dropped the mouse nearby her, and spoke in a soothing tone to the kit, hoping that he wouldn't make her afraid.~ Hello there, little one. Nightpaw ~The black Moonclan she-cat stayed low. She had been following the scent of a lone tomcat for awhile now, and she had final caught a glimpse of him as she shadowed him through the forest. She felt the fur on her back stand up as she heard the cries of a kitten. Were there more loners in Moonclan territory? She wouldn't be able to fight them all off if there were, but she would have to try. Then, she heard the tomcat speak. It was speaking to the crying kit. It didn't sound like they knew each other. In the darkness, her black coat made her invisible to the rest of the world. She crouched low, and watched as he offered the kit a mouse that he had caught. It had been caught on Moonclan territory, Nightpaw knew. Now that she knew there were only two of them, and one was a kit, she figured that she could hold her own against the mangy tomcat. He didn't have nice fur like a clan cat. She felt her spine tingle when the tomcat spoke to the kitten. There was something wrong. Something told her that this tomcat's intentions were not just to help a poor helpless kit. She flexed her claws in the earth, trying not to growl. She wouldn't let him harm or manipulate this kit.~

The small she-cat's eyes felt heavy as her lids tried to force themselves shut. She would not be so foolish, who knew what dangers may come to her? Her velvetted ears pricked as she heard the approaching pawsteps of another cat. Her nutse coat started to bristle, and she did look rather funny, much like a little fluff ball- a snow ball more like. She was going to let out a hiss, but the scent of newly killed meat wafted into her nose. Her innocent blue eyes narrowed to slits as she watched a bush cautiosly. A tom. A tom appeared with a mouse dangling from his jaws. She wanted to run, was this a trap? wait.. what if he was her father? She hadn't a clue, but she destincly remembered this scent... did it bring her fear... or comfort? Which she could not remember, but she began to arise stiffly from her temporary refuge of her natures solace. She watched him as he dropped the mouse, and her maw began to salivate as its impact on the ground sent a strong buffet of wind into her, but she held her ground. She tried to study him, but all she could manage was to give him a quizzical look. His greeting warmed her impression though Hello, little one he spoke calmingly to her, and this gave her some light of hope that he might be the one she was needing. With no second thoughts the young cat dived at the mouse, intending to eat it.

Poolpaw of MoonClan : Medicine cat apprentice
The silvery she-cat padded through the marshy territory of the clan she loved. Poolpaw was out hunting for herbs, alone. Her search was for nothing, in particular. She lifted her head and drew in the air through her nostrils. Of course, she scented MoonClan - actually, Nightpaw, to be precise. Then there were two strange scents. Automatically, she knew they were not from any of the surrounder clans. One, Poolpaw identified as a kit. As for the other one, it was a rogue tom. Was he going to hurt it? Surely Nightpaw would prevent that from happening. Silently, she crept closer to her clanmate. Nightpaw, it's me, Poolpaw, she whispered, barely audible. Are you going to fight the tom over there?

Nightpaw Poolpaw, I've been following that tom's scent for a little while now. Do you feel bad vibes from that tomcat too? ~Nightpaw whispered back to the medicine cat apprentice. She didn't want to hurt the kit, but she might if she leaped in and attacked the tom. The kit might get in the way of a fight, or the tom might use the kit as a bargaining chip, and threaten to kill her if Nightpaw leaped in. The tomcat made her shiver with fear. She could sense something wrong with him, but your heart could mislead you.~ Palepelt Poor baby. Where is your mother? ~Palepelt asked, looking at the kit curiously. If he could find the kit's mother, perhaps he could convince her into following him. A queen could hunt for him. He would have to teach a kit to do that for him. No matter, a kit was still a feline who could be taught to follow him and obey his every command. One kit following him was better than being alone. Since she was only a kit, she would be easy to manipulate. She would not have much experience dealing with cats like himself. Perfect. He thought. He thought he heard a whisper, but when he looked, he decided that it was only the breeze dancing through the forest at night.~

The small ears upon the kit's head shot up at the mention of her mother. The mouse was almost completely gone now, and looking up, she swallowed hard. Her blue eyes looked around nervously, before catching the gaze of the tom. 'My mother is gone, dead. Her blood is what i find.' The kit looked down and started to nibble at the remains of a mouse. Her body language told those observing that she was still ready to run at any moment, but was calmer than before. She didn't know who this tom was. What did he want? was he some kind of lost kittypet who had a good taste in food? She wasn't sure, but one thing was for sure, she felt a bit more relaxed around another cat.

Palepelt That explains why you are here. You have chosen a very dangerous place to be. There are bands of rogue cats who roam this territory, and they eat kits like you for breakfast. The awful savage beasts would have enjoyed finding you in their territory. ~Palepelt told the kit innocently. He was a well practised liar. He was completely unaware of the fact that two of those "Savage" Moonclan cats were watching him. The faster he could convince the kit that clan cats were her enemies, the better off her would be. If she was convinced that the clan cats were savages, the chances were that she would be eager to help him take over them. She was only a tool in his plot to rule the clans.~ You are lucky that I found you first. Nightpaw ~The black she-cat dug her claws into the ground, trying not to let her anger give away their position to the rogue and the kit. It infuriated her that he was feeding the kit such lies about the clan cats! How dare he! She wanted to rip his pelt from his body, mouse length by mouse length. The way he spoke was convincing enough that if Nightpaw wasn't fom the clans, she might have beleived that ridiculous lie. Then it hit her like a branch falling off a tree. She realised what the tom was doing. The rogue wanted followers, and the kit was the perfect one to manipulate. nightpaw barely managed to muffle her growl.~

Snowy ears flattened against the small dome of the she-cat's head as sky-blue eyes became overtaken by black. Fear began to well up in her once again, and she moved closer to the tom, her fluffed tail dragging on the ground slightly, 'Where should I go? I don't want to be eaten!' Her heart was pounding against her small chest, and any creature around, she was sure, could feel it. They could also probably sense or smell her fear, even if they couldn't see her, though her body was fluffed out to look twice her normal size, she was still tiny next to the big tom. He was brave, in her eyes, he had come to find her when she was in danger. She looked up at him, he was strong, yes, she could see his muscles under his pale grey colored pelt. He too, almost looked aglow in the moonlight. Maybe he knew my father.. Her innocent mind spun with thought that maybe, just maybe, he could be related to her. All she knew of her father was that he was white like she, and he had left and never come back. The pale coat was the thing that did it. Maybe he was an uncle.. 'How did you know I was here?'

Nightpaw
Poolpaw, give me guidance, please? ~the she-cat whisper to the medicine cat apprentice. The tom was going to convince the kit that they were bad if she didn't do something soon, but she needed to do something soon. She was having trouble just standing by and watching this tom write awful lies into the kit's mind. He had to be stopped.~ Palepelt ~The tom was unprepared for the kit's question, but his evil mind raced as he put together a lie to tell her. to get her on his side. Would the kitten beleive something if he said something about a family member sending him to look for her? Her father perhaps? Was her father on her good side? Did she even know her father? Perhaps he could tell her that he was a relative somehow? No. She might know all of her relatives. He softened his eyes, as he looked down at the kit, searching her. Then, he began to spin the web of decepton even thicker, as he started to fish in the dark for something to rely on. Something to get the kit to come with him. Anything to make her follow him.~ I'm a friend of your father's. I came out looking for you, after your father's stories of you. Seems he was very proud of you. He never told me your name in the stories though...

(Sorry I took so long. I lost my muse for the thread xP) { P o o l p a w } Medicine cat apprentice of MoonClan Poolpaw, give me guidance, she heard. Poolpaw shuffled her white paws and looked around, trying to find something that would give her an idea. Then bright red berries hit her sight. We could give him death berries... by stuffing them in a piece of prey. We could act like we are giving in to his plan to dominate cats and then give him the food, she whispered to Nightpaw, hoping she would agree. Cats like this one didn't deserve to live - that was what the medicine cat apprentice thought, anyways.

(OOC: We can't kill him. he's gotta meet Summer's kitteh today) Nightpaw That may take to long, and he may not fall for it. I'm sure I can hold my own against him. ~Nightpaw whispered back. She narrowed her eyes at the tomcat, angrily. Sighing silently, she stood up slowly, hidden among the bushes. She took a step towards the tomcat, her claws flexing. She paused for a moment, then looked back at the medicine cat apprentice, and nodded to her determinedly. She was going to show this rogue that clan cats did not take well to being insulted, espcecially by low down fleabags such as him. She took a deep breath, and stepped out of the bushes quietly.~ Palepelt ~The large pale gray tom did not see the black Moonclan she-cat step out of the bushes. He was looking at the kit in front of him. He wasn't bothered to look around him. He couldn't smell anything since he was downwind of the Moonclan cats. He took a deep breath, and lifted his gaze from the kit. He looked around, and he noticed the black she-cat. His eyes narrowed at the sight of her, and he flexed his claws. This kit was his to manipulate. He had found her first.~ Hello there. Nightpaw ~She stared back, her face expressionless. The tom deserved to die, but she did not kill unless she had to. She had killed Silverclaw because he had been a danger to the clan. Had she not killed him, Dawnstar would have exiled him most likely, but then he could have come back with a pack of rogues and destroyed the clan. A rogue in their territory wasn't as big a threat as Silverclaw was, or at least he did not appear to be. Yet. He may have a band of rogues in other territory. But at the moment he looked alone. She could take him. She tried hard to not do something to frighten the kit. She pulled her lips back into a snarl, and hissed at the rogue.~ Liar. How can you look right into a kit's face and lie to her? Such a sweet, innocent kit, and you are clouding her mind with your tales from the Dark Forest.

'So he knew my father?' Instantly she relaxed, maybe her father had been looking for her all along! She wanted to yowl with happiness, but something told her this was not the time nor place. 'Do you know where my father is now? she beamed, blue eyes looking up at the pale cat in adoration. The peak of ecstasy was not to last as another cat entered the scene. At first she had hopes of it being her father, but it had a rather peculiar scent. Though familiar, it was not the scent of family. The little ears on the she-cats head flattened against her head. Evil clan cats!' she almost spat the words out loud, though she was glad she didn't she didn't fancy being dinner to one of those nasty cats. Her small frame again exploded into the fluffy snowball once displayed before, only this time the small cat looked as if ready to fight. She did look rather pathetic though, her size and eyes made some want to laugh. Tiny blue eyes with the thinnest of black lines, and the fluffiest of paws with the tiniest claws. She was no match for any cat.

Nightpaw One look at the kit, fluffing out her fur defensively, and Nightpaw hide a sigh. The tom had already gotten to the kit. Her yellow-green eyes betrayed her in showing sadness. Moonclan could care for a kit much better than a mangy old rogue tomcat could. Do I look like I could harm a kit? Nightpaw asked, then looking at the pale tabby tomcat and narrowing her eyes angrily. Her mind raced as she tried to think of what to do. She was afraid to alarm the kit, but she was even more afraid that the tomcat would win and take the kit away, turning her into something he obviously had plans for. How could he? She's just a kit.Palepelt She calls herself a cat. She is weak. Just like every other she-cat out there. The tom narrowed his eyes, studying her. She was an apprentice by the looks of it. He had been taught the clan's ranks as a kit. He assumed that this cat was no warrior. Not yet. She reeked of clan scent though. Moonclan scent. His tail began to lash from side to side in annoyance. This she-cat had clearly seen the whole thing, and was here to stop him. He wasn't going to let that happen. I will fight you, to protect this poor kit from the suffering that your lifestyle will put her through. He hissed through gritten teeth. He could rip apart this cat in seconds. She was small, no match for a strong, tough rogue tom like himself. He would fight her and kill her, or fight her and injure her into obedience. One way or another, he would win. She was only an apprentice after all, and he was a seasoned fighter and a well practiced liar.

Poolpaw
Poolpaw fluffed up, still not coming out from behind the bush. She was watching, though. The medicine cat apprentice decided she would go and get help for Nightpaw. With one last worried glance, she took off in the direction of camp as fast as she could, making the shrub shake as she leapt away swiftly.
