Foxkit
The tiny cat stepped out of the den, his golden-orange eyes lightning up. At last... His sleek orange fur was shiny, and his bushy tail's black tip gleamed. His white chin, chest, and stomach was slightly ruffled, as was his rest of his pelt. His watchful eyes caught the brown tabby's glance at Pantherstrike. So he will be my mentor. Foxkit walked forward, black paws moving at a steady gait. Once I'm an apprentice, I will be able to do so much more. I'll learn to fight, too. Stifling a sinister smile, he stopped before Brackenclaw, keeping his expression innocent, showing no signs of the dark plans he was already plotting. His intellect was rather high, and he was excellent at lying and stealth. His night vision was great--almost no cat could catch him. He thought back to his brother, whom he had easily tricked into eating death berries about 4-moons ago. Dear brother, you were a fool. Maybe you would be alive today if you were more watchful, and less clueless of things, Foxkit thought, not feeling an ounce of guilt or sincerity. I'm surprised nobody ever found out. Please, what else could have happened? There were no wounds, no water where he might've drowned. He couldn't have fallen from anywhere. It was too easy. The young cat revealed no sign of his ominous thoughts, only the excitement any kit would feel at becoming an apprentice.

Robincloud heard the new leader's anncouncement. She purred with joy. A new apprentice!!!! she thought excitedly remembering when she herself had been made an apprentice. She padded out and saw the kit. Foxkit...She had seen something in him, ever since his brother had died. Something....evil. She narrowed her eyes ever so slightley but kept her expression happy but with some difficulty. I better keep an eye on him...i wonder if Pantherstrike knows what this kit is plotting. And more importantly if our leader does....

His fur tingled, and he turned his head to find Robincloud watching him closely. There was a strained expression on her face, and he could tell she was trying to look glad at the prospect of having a new apprentice in the clan. She was one of the cats who actually had doubts about me killing Mudkit(his brother)--guess I haven't completely persuaded her yet. She trusts me about as much as I trust the whole clan---smart cat. Foxkit smiled at her, orange eyes twinkling with excitement. Excitement at finally becoming an apprentice. There was a touch of the ominous as well, but it was nearly unnoticeable. He only partially hid it, hoping to unnerve the warrior. Behind the excitement and cold shine, there was an even smaller trace of insanity--it was barely there, but it was present.

Robincloud saw his expression and she knew something was up. She shifted her position every so slightley and gave the apprentice a look that basically said, i know your up to something. she then looked up to her leader.

He smiled slightly to himself as he looked back up at the Brackenclaw, satisfied. Robincloud was definitely suspicious, but the warrior had no idea what about. I won't be telling any cat anytime soon either. The orange tom flicked his black pointed ears as any new apprentice would, eager to get on with the ceremony. This time, there was no trace of evil intentions in his bright eyes. He was a master of deception.

Fieryheart watched the cats from a close dstance between her and the Highrock.She watched Foxkit,her eyes clouded with worry and concern as she saw the look on his face.Fieryheart looked at her leader and flicked her tail impatiently,what was Foxkit planning to do when he's an apprentice?She was definantly going to investigate on that.Fieryheart's fur was bristling with excitement for Foxkit but then worry.She turned her head and licked her shoulder fur down.She raised her head in pride because she was the new deputy but it wasn't her time to be appreciated,it was Foxkit's.Fieryheart trotted towards Foxkit(or paw) and flicked him with her tail as a congratulation."Have fun as an apprentice,but not too much fun." she narrowed her eyes and padded back to her spot.Fieryheart sighed and looked back to her leader.

Puffing out his white furred chest, the young cat grinned. "Thanks," he mewed, showing no traces of evil at all. His orangey eyes sparkled in the sunlight as he beamed at the warrior. Bushy tail waving in the air, he waited for Brackenclaw to get on with the ceremony. He already knew who the tabby had chosen as his mentor, but it still wasn't official. Not yet.

Pantherstrike heard the familar words, which seemed to echo around, calling every cat to center. His new leader, Brackenclaw, soon to be 'star, winked at him once he said Foxkit was going to be an apprentice. M-me...getting an apprentice, finally?! he thought excitedly. The panther-like tom glanced at Brackenclaw, and nodded, telling him he was ready for the ceremony to start.

Rockjaw watched in bitter silence. His paws ached to have an apprentice. But it didn't matter right now... what mattered was the clans. Something was going on, something strange... Yes, Rockjaw was at the ceremony, but not completely. He was almost lost in thought. Thought of what could be, what will be. Would the clans fall apart at the paws of evil and bloodshed? Only time would tell. |

Fieryheart nodded in return and watched in silence at the other cats.She was wondering exactly what was going through everyones minds during this ceremony.Fieryheart hissed to herself quietly and curled her tail around her paws,the end twitching ever so slightly as she sat decently calm.Fieryheart would have to wait until she got her very own apprentice and would be happy of who it would be.She purred in the thought of having an apprentice but pushed it aside.Fieryheart looked around her,she locked her eyes on Foxkit.Watching every move,she glanced at Brackenclaw every now and then.She was watching Foxkit with praise.
