Apprentice Ceremony for Darkpaw.

Brackenclaw stepped out of his new den. The leader den. Wow he thought.
He side glanced at Firepaw. Resting... Darkpaw. Ouch, she seemed mad. Not resting either.
Climbing to the top of the High rock "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath High Rock for a Clan meeting." she yowled.

~The tortoiseshell she-cat narrowed her eyes. Another of Starclan's chosen traditions. They were rule. They were pointless. She stayed where she was, and looked up at her new leader.~

"As all of you might know Darkpaw is inneed of a mentor. She has had 2 so far, but now she need a third.Darkpaw, please come forward"

Stonefeather heard Brackenclaw yowl out an announcment. He dashed below the rock as fast as he could, and he couldnt wait to here what this meeting was about. He sat beneath the Hight Rock, listening carefully to what the new leader had to say.

Firepaw

The firey tom glanced up at the brown tabby. He still hadn't moved from where he had been sitting during Dragonclaw's retirement ceremony. The whole thing had came as a surprise, and he still had not completely gotten over it all. In the space of less than a day, so much had happened--Dragonclaw gave up leadership, his brother and mentor became leader, he was going to go to the Moonstone later, and what else? Firepaw's purple eyes were lacking their usual mischievous glint as he waited for Brackenstar to continue...or was it Brackenclaw? Was he to be called by the 'star' title, or his warrior name? He hadn't gotten his 9 lives yet, so which was it?

Pantherstrike was still shocked about Dragonclaw's retirement, and had not moved since then. He now looked to his new leader, then the apprentice. He got up lightly, and waddled over to sit beside Stonefeather. The Mau looked excited. How could he be, when the Dragonclaw just resigned! The mini panther glanced at Stonefeather. "What are you so excited about, Stonefeather?" he asked, being his usual self.

Stonefeather hadnt heard Pantherstrike's question. He nodded and turned his attention to Darkpaw, who didnt look very happy at the moment.

Pantherstrike flicked his tail in annoyance and muttered a congradulations to Stonefeather.

~Darkpaw, her eyes still narrowed with anger, now stepped forward, but instead of touching noses with her mentor as she should have done, she walked past him, and looked up at the clan's new leader.~ Brackenstar, what is the point of giving me a new mentor, when its clear that Starclan has decided I will never be fit to be a warrior?

Dragonclaw looked at her former apprentice uneasily, aware that she had caused Darkpaw a lot of stress. To lose her first mentor was bad enough, but to be replaced by a retiring leader? Dragonclaw couldn't help but feel ashamed. Her ear twisted back slightly, the only sign of her growing turmoil. She could only hope that Brackenclaw had something in mind for her, something she would never forget, to dispel the fear that the apprentice must have.

BrackenCLAW!(hasnt gone to moonstone yet!) looked down at her. Why did she have to be so difficult? She was a pretty cat.." Dont worry your pretty little butt off. I'm sure it was just what happens.."

Darkpaw

~Darkpaw's different colored eyes grew wide at their leader's comment to her. Did Earthclan's leader just say she was pretty? Had she heard him right? She shook her black and ginger tortoiseshell head to clear it. What had she been talking about before? Oh yes. Her collection of mentors.~ I can understand once, but why did it happen twice, to me?

Firepaw

He followed the conversation back and forth, purple eyes looking from Brackenclaw to Darkpaw. He rolled his eyes slightly as his older brother made the comment about the 'pretty little butt.' He stifled a grin as he saw Darkpaw's reaction. "He does that to all the she-cats; don't think about it," he muttered in a low voice, padding towards the tortoise apprentice. Raising his voice, Firepaw added, "Well, maybe they're just testing to see if you really wanted to be a warrior. I mean, if you really wanted to be one, you wouldn't care." He emphasized each 'really' as he spoke.

Would I? Starclan is testing me to see if I just don't care when my mentor vanishes or is forced to retire? Maybe you're right.... But the thing is, maybe I was supposed to be dead long ago.... I mean I was either an orphan, or abandoned. I was taken in by Earthclan. Maybe that wasn't supposed to happen.... ~Darkpaw replied to her best friend as he padded over to her. She looked at him, and sighed with frustration. Life was hard out here, but never dull.~

OOC: She was born in Earthclan, just cuz all of her parents and siblings were killed, she figures that she wasn't born in Earthclan, and nobody has told her that she was yet.
